História do Museu Paulo Setúbal

O Museu Paulo Setúbal ocupa um imóvel histórico no centro de Tatuí. Construído em 1920, o prédio que abriga o museu é um dos principais pontos turísticos do município de 107 mil habitantes, conhecido como a “Cidade da Música”.  Mesmo antes de se tornar um espaço cultural, o prédio da praça Manoel Guedes já servia os tatuianos. Foi inicialmente projetado para abrigar uma cadeia e, posteriormente, sediou o fórum da cidade. Passou por várias reformas, mas seu projeto inicial foi sempre mantido. Em 1962, foi instituído como Casa de Cultura Paulo Setúbal, e a criação do Museu Histórico de Tatuí se deu em 1966. Dois anos depois, a gestão do espaço cultural foi transferida para a então Secretaria de Cultura, Esportes e Turismo, hoje Secretaria de Estado da Cultura de São Paulo. A gestão da instituição que estava sob a responsabilidade da Associação Cultural de Apoio ao Museu Casa de Portinari (ACAM Portinari), de Brodowski (SP), em parceria com a Secretaria de Estado da Cultura, de 2008 a 2010, passou à Prefeitura de Tatuí, de acordo com a Lei Municipal de 4.345/2010, que oficializa a municipalização da instituição.

History of the Museum Paulo Setubal

Paulo Setubal Museum occupies a historic building in downtown mountain view. Built in 1920, the building that houses the Museum is one of the main points of interest of the municipality of 107 thousand inhabitants, known as the "city of music".  Even before becoming a cultural space, the building of the square served as the already “Guedes Manoe”l. It was initially designed to House a prison and subsequently hosted the Forum in town. Has undergone several reforms, but his initial design was always maintained. In 1962, was instituted as Casa de Cultura Paulo Setúbal, and the creation of the historical Museum of Tatuí in 1966. Two years later, the management of the cultural space was transferred to the then Secretary of Culture, Sports and Tourism, nowadays State Secretariat of Culture of São Paulo.The management of the institution which was under the responsibility of the Cultural Association in support of the Portinari House Museum (ACAM Portinari), of Brodowski (SP), in partnership with the Ministry of Culture, from 2008 to 2010, went to the city of Tatuí, according to the Municipal law of 4,345/2010, which formalises the municipalization of the institution.
